Area 17 Winter League

Class 1 2'6"

I entered Smurph in this class. He is still developing, and has only just started cantering to fences! He warmed up well and jumped a nice first round clear. Another clear in the jump off left us in 7th place! There were lots of other Meon combinations in this and nice to see some old and new members competing well! (Anne Evans, Penny Briggs and Fiona Rogers to name a few) I will fill you in on their results soon!) Meon came 6th and 7th

Competition is hotting up at the area 17 winter league competition. This weekend saw the third leg in the series, with record entries battling for points! Meon riding club were leading the team and individual competition on the run up to tis event, so we had it all to play for!

Update - Meon still heads the tram points, but have lost the individual lead! It's all to play for next month at the dressage!

Class 3 3'0 style

Both Tom and Dougal jumped alovely clear in this class, but obviously didn't attract the style judges attention enough. The same can be said for me and Harmony, as we also jumped a lovely round to finish no where!!! I think there were some Meon placings in this class, but from what I can understand the scores were very similar and placings were hard to work out.

Meon got some individual placings here - Ceri Bishop.

Class 2 2'9"

Tom and Dougal jumped in this class. Dougal was his usual keen self and Tom did well to contain his onwardness to achieve a clear round. In the jump off, Tom managed a very fast round, but was unable to get one of the turns in as Dougal was still being strong! He led right up to the end, when he was beaten by the last to go, but still came a respectable 2nd! Once again, more details of other Meon competitors soon!

Class 5 1.05m

Meon had a few representatives here, who jumped well, but had a few disagreements with a style fence. I think other clubs fared a little better, so no points for us here.

Class 4 1m

This class was quite well supported and clears were ahieved by a mixture of clubs. Harmony jumped a nice first round clear, as did 8 other people who managed to survive an up to height course with style and gates. In the jump off, Harmony galloped round and took most of the tight turns to come 1st! Other Meon members had a few uncharacteristic problems.
