June News
7/6/09 well this weekend was a bit of a change - we were all ready to go to Ascott BE event only to be told it was cancelled due to rain!! We therefore stayed at home and did some work in the garden - mowing the lawn and strimming back the jungle! Benjy enjoyed driving the tractor! before taking Mia and Twinkle the shetland to a local gymkhana - She did very well despite me being somewhat competitive and even learned to canter and vault from necessity! (She's only ridden about 8 times!) Twinkle was a star and got loads of rossettes as you can see from the pictures. I think the biggest triumph was the bending race where in the first instance I came 1st and the pony 4th, but by the final, Twinkle managed to keep up with me at full speed canter and we both crossed the line together in 1st place!
Fair Oak XC schooling - Well we managed to miss the RC training session due to weather and so went ourselves! Buggie accompanied Spring and was the perfect schoolmaster! Spring was pretty good too and jumped everything asked of her!
Yately - Last weekend we took Smurph and Harmony to Yately for a bit of SJ practice. It was a bit like the old days at Priory with dust, hard ground and the usual crowd! Both jumped well with Harmony 2nd and Smurph 3rd in the first class, then Smurph 2nd and Harmony 6 th in the next class. After all that I had trouble collecting my winnings, with a need to prove my ID- of which I had none! We got there in the end, but never had that problem before!
Sparsholt - Spring went to her first SJ show and did some lovely clear rounds to get two 5ths!
This week I have been making the most of my yummy mummy maternity leave and went to RC camp! Spring was very good and learned lots of new things and we had a very enjoyable time! We did however play truant to one xc session due to the hard ground and also one session of stable management for which I have no excuse!
