Sorry for the delay!!! Has been a bonkers month already! Had a fairly busy time at work recently, as well as some weekend duties - so I haven't been out competing as much as normal! We are hoping to get a bit more done in the next few weeks as fortuntaley half term is coming up.
Tom is currently in montreal Canada! but I hve managed to get a bit more of the horses done this week, now that school art exhibitions are over! Smurph and spring didn't really need such a long break, so I think it will take me a while to get them going again at former standards!
Badminton Horse trials - was pretty good this year- the going was nice - it was dry and fairly sunny too! We saw some good competition and had a nice shop in the tradestands - Thomas's surprise present for me was an authentic badminton fence sign from last year, which is currently in our toilet... he chose the Little Badminton Drop!
10 / 05 / 08 School open day took up most of the weekend, but we managed to get some horsey stuff done! Twinkle star got a small cut and infection in her leg, but with some antibiotics was soon better! We even had a go at loading her in the horsebox, which after the traumas of before was no mean feat! She certainly remembered her past experiences, but only took about threee minutes to decide that her food was more important than being scared of a ramp! Springy her surrogate mummy naturally helped, by being a good companion!
Meon riding club show - well Springy did her second show ever and was a star! She had to do dressage in a scary bumpy, dark, loud indoor school and behaved impeccably and then did two super jumping clear rounds!! She is a sweetie.. Smurph doodle is a little more tricky to ride than would appear, and Aunty ellie stepped in to do a good job on him. He did a rather poor test and came 3rd in the first class, and then went more fluently in the second, but was first to go - which in dressage terms is a non starter!!! Next show soon!
