Priory Dressage 5th November
Smurph and Harmony went to the local dressage competition for a school and had a lovely day! The first class was prelim and both did good tests, although some rather dubious marking placed Smurph 8th, above Harmony! ( a little worrying considering the different levels of experience of each horse!) Never mind, it was a very busy class and we got some lovely photos to follow shortly! Harmony did a lovely novice test, but being second to go, we didn't wait around to see the result.............. .Apparently she came 2nd!
Quob Stables 26th November
We took Smurph and Bugz to do the unafiliated 2'6 class today. We nearly never went because of the torrential rain, but in the end did! I haven't schooled Smurph for two weeks now- becuase of reports - and you could tell!! He did however, jump really well and had an unlucky pole down in a rather short related distance. Bugz zoomed round to win the class. Photos to follow later.!

RC Area 17 Winter League
Tom took Dougal to Hoplands. I was coursebuilding and we had a lovely day at this very good venue. It was a super outdoor surface and we were able to make some interesting courses, which rode well.Tom confirmed this by jumping four super clears. He won both the 2'9 and 3'0 class. Unfortunately the journey home didn't go quite so well. Our lorry broke down and we had to fetch Dougal in the trailer. Then the lorry was towed away which activated the tracker!! At least we know this works!. We also had some bad news about Tom's Granny who sadly passed away - so very much a day of mixed emotions. Sorry no photos!
Spring gets backed!
This weekend we took Smurph for a lesson and were trying to get him more elevated. After that we went back and rode the others and led Springy out. Whilst cantering along the top of the common, Tom steered her towards a puddle and she jumped about four foot in the air over it! When we got back, we put a saddle on her and did it up. She didn't seem to mind, so then I got on and rode down the road! What a super star 2 year old! I bet we never get any more that are that easy to back!
